Biography

Lauren has been a member of the National and Specialist OCD, BDD and Related Disorders Service for Children and Young People since 2012.  Within the team she takes a lead in developing the work with inpatient services and other enhanced modes of treatment and overseeing the delivery of the NHS England Highly Specialist Services pathway for children and young people.  In her clinical role she is involved in leading multi-disciplinary specialist assessments, and delivering treatment approaches including weekly, intensive, home-based and inpatient treatment as well as consultation and joint work with other clinicians.  Lauren contributes regularly to the teaching and training offered by the team, including providing media and workshops for a number of charities and organisations. 

Lauren completed her clinical training in East London in 2006, following which she worked in Yorkshire in an NSPCC domestic abuse service for children and as the lead of a Camhs service for Looked after Children.  On returning to London in 2009, Lauren worked for several years within South London and Maudsley NHS Trust in a secure inpatient service for adolescents.  Since joining the OCD and BDD team she has continued to employ the skills and knowledge developed within broader mental health and social care settings, as reflected in the team leadership roles she currently enjoys.
